CONCEPT:

The idea of the 'Senior Send Off Cup' came about during a conversation on how Pennsylvania annually has the BIG 33 classic which showcases Pennsylvania high school football players heading to college. In conversation, the discussion began of why we don’t do this for other sports in the area. We have so many great athletes in the state of Pennsylvania playing high school sports and little representation of games to get these college bound players together. I came up with this concept when i was planning my yearly event/opportunity for our graduating players in the club to have that one last event before they are no longer club soccer players. Many of the kids have conflicts and there are a number of clubs out there where these players don’t have the opportunity to come together for a sendoff match. That one last game in their career as a club player where younger players within clubs, parents, grandparents, friends, and others alike can come out and watch them play in an fun but competitive environment that really has no other meaning than to say goodbye and thank you for all of your years of showcasing your talents as players for your clubs, club teams, and families.

It is the hope that in the future this game can continue to grow. It is also the hope that one day this game will be one of two that is held on this day. We would like the event to become one where these players can play in an East vs. West type game to where the players can invite their college coaches in to watch them play with other like players. In return those college coaches attending would be able to watch the game that is held prior to this where we showcase a number of players in high school that are ‘uncommitted'.
